About
I am the Head of Department of Performing Arts and Senior Lecturer in Dance.
I joined Kingston Universityin 2016 following a successful career as a dance artist, teacher and project manager working in a variety of community and education settings working across the UK for dance companies and organisations, such as, Richard Alston Dance Company, Candoco Dance Company, The Place, Trinity Laban Conservatoire for Music and Dance's youth programme, and Surrey County Arts. I have choreographed a variety of performance works including works for Trinity Laban Youth Dance Company, Thurrock Youth Arts, and worked as Deputy Choreographer for Royston Maldoom OBE for his Dance Umbrella commission in 2008 at the Royal Albert Hall. I have performed with Danielle Jones' Collective Identity Project and Loop Dance Company. I continue to work within the dance industry as a Teacher Training Mentor for the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing.
I have taught in several Further Education colleges in London and a specialist performing arts academy in the West Midlands working with gifted and talented young dancers and co-directing two youth dance companies. I have also lead a national cross-curricular dance project for primary schools in my role as Dance Development Officer for The Place. My education work includes holding external examiner and advisor positions for vocational dance schools and universities.
Prior to becoming Head of Department I was the Course Leader for the BA(Hons) Dance course at Kingston School of Art/Kingston UniversityLondon.

- teaching and leading in community dance and dance in education settings.

I teach across a variety of modules on the BA(Hons) Dance and BA(Hons) Dance and Drama courses. My areas of interest include:
- choreography and performance
- dance technique and training
- employability, leadership and professional practice
- teaching and leading in community dance and dance in education settings.
As Head of Department of Performing Arts work with colleagues and students across the department to support the student experience and development of our Future Skills curriculum to develop our students' understanding and experience of the performing arts industry. I am also one of the university's internal assessors for the Higher Education Academy's fellowships.
I am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA) awarded in recognition for collaboration and co-creation of curriculum and assessment with students and the development and application of inclusive practices. I am particularly interested in working with students to co-create curriculum and assessment, decolonise the curriculum, and embed employability. My professional practice spans the learning & teaching and dance. This includes working with a variety of dance organisations supporting the community dance and dance in education sectors. I am interested in inclusive and intersectional leadership supporting student experience and the university's equality, diversity and inclusion offer. I currently hold the leadership position of Head of Department of Performing Arts supporting teaching and academic citizenship, student experience, research, knowledge exchange, and Higher Education pedagogy. I am also a mentor within the university community.
As one of the co-chair's of LGBTQ+ Staff Network (2021-2023) I organised and hosted two university events for LGBT+ History Month 2022:
